Bridget and Joseph Hooker

Married musical team Bridget and Joseph Hooker have a long track record in Christian music, speaking and performing.

Joseph Hooker is a Christian singer/songwriter and musician, a member of ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers), who has been performing at religious gatherings, retreats and conferences since 1970. Best recognized for having taken the miraculous photographs,"The Good Shepherd" and "White Cross", he is the author and producer of the nationally distributed "Singing the Rosary", which was presented to Pope John Paul II in 1991.

Joseph's music and photographs appear regularly on nationwide and international TV broadcasts, as well as on the radio and in international media publications. His popular pro-life hit, "Don't Cry, Mary", produced into a compelling MTV-style music video, is the musical highlight of the 1997 release,"Bridging the Tears". This dramatic documentary, introduced by entertainer-turned-evangelist Lola Falana, champions the pro-life cause.

Pro-life in word and in deed, Joseph is the father of six whose greatest parental heartache was the loss of his first-born son, Luke John, who died at the tender age of four after a grueling battle with metastatic liver cancer.Luke John appeared regularly with his father on stage, and serves as his musical and moral inspiration.

Joseph met his wife, Bridget Hylak, on Easter Sunday of 1990 in Medjugorje, Yugoslavia (now Bosnia). Both had traveled to the miraculous shrine that Easter season from different parts of the US, each on a pilgrimage. Soon after meeting, however, the pair felt God's intervention in their love, and became engaged within a week. Almost as a heavenly seal of approval, a miraculous White Cross began hovering over their heads when Joseph presented Bridget with her engagement ring.A year and a half later, they were married on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, October 7, 1991.

Stanford University graduate and the mother of four,Bridget is recognized and respected worldwide for her outstanding track record in the fields of translation, interpretation and editing. The winner of several awards and editor of numerous books which have attained "Best Seller" status on the Catholic Best Seller list, Bridget's credentials include several years with US government and international departments of Translation and Editing, as well as escort interpreting assignments for embassies and diplomats in locals such as Moscow, Russia and Buenos Aires,Argentina.

In addition, Bridget is a dynamic speaker, songwriter and performer who in her free time has traveled internationally with her pro-life message since 1992. The survivor of several abortion attempts on her fetal life, a probability which was less than 1 in 64 million, Bridget exposes the reality, the lie and the violence of the pro-choice movement with both an intellectual boldness and a profound sensitivity. Her talks, "Say Yes to Life," and "The Role of Suffering" have been delivered in English and Spanish to standing-ovation crowds nationwide, and her entertaining style appeals to young and old alike.

Bridget is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian. She has lived, studied and worked around the world, and her broad world-vision enriches her talk with a distinct clarity and sensitivity. Her primary goal is not to condemn or judge, but rather to educate on the repercussions and risks of abortion, both emotional and physical. In doing so, she details the various methods of abortion, the facts which are concealed from the patient, the truth behind the media debate, and the sad societal conflict between "success" and motherhood.

She brings solid insight and value to the terms motherhood, chastity and natural family planning. In addition, she presents with optimism and hope the tragic stories of unexpected miscarriage followed by the loss of her first-born son, Luke John, to metastatic liver cancer at the tender age of four.Often called "The Pro-Life Baby" and known for his gentle and amazingly mature demeanor, Luke John appeared regularly with his mother on stage before his diagnosis, inspiring many to "choose life".

Bridget frequently enhances her witness by teaming up with Joseph and their children. Bridget and Joseph have written and produced a number of professional audio and videotapes, and their music can be heard and seen around the world.
